The following midi sequences demonstrate some of the results that can be obtained with the Proteus/1 and Proteus/2 sound modules. These sound modules date from the pre-General Midi (GM) standard days and don't use patch numbers that are "General Midi". The Cakewalk files (.WRK) include patch SYSEX for the Proteus. Otherwise, you'll have to tweek the track starting patch numbers for your sound modules. (They will sound very strange if you listen to them with your web browser.)

My Proteus/1 and Proteus/2 Global Velocity Curves are set to "Off" and "3" respectively. The sound balance and overall quality will be best with these settings on your setup. This setting makes quite a difference. Change it under the Proteus Master menu button.

Note: Standard midi files marked with a * should play ok on GM compatible sound cards/modules. There are also MP3 files of some of these sequences on Don's MP3 Page.
